Ethereum Upgrade: What to Expect?

Big Win for Crypto

If you use Ethereum for transactions, get ready – the Ethereum upgrade is coming in March!

When Will Upgrade Take Place

The Ethereum upgrade named “Pectra” consists of two parts – Prague and Electra. Prague is expected until spring 2025. Electra needs more time to be prepared, so you can expect it no earlier than 2026.

What Ethereum Pectra Upgrade Brings

The upgrade promises several big changes to the Ethereum blockchain activity:

With the new account abstraction feature, users no longer need to keep small amounts of ETH to pay gas fees. Instead, it’s possible to use a diversity of tokens like USDC or DAI. This change could significantly reduce barriers to entry for new users and make the network more accessible.

The Pectra upgrade will let validators stake more, reducing their total number. This will ease network load and speed up transaction confirmations.

The introduction of Verkle Trees allows blockchain to store less data. Improved storage management is expected to contribute to a smoother user experience and lead to faster transactions and commission cuts.

Overall, the Pectra upgrade will enhance Ethereum's efficiency, optimizing the number of validators to reduce network load, and simplify and reduce gas fees, making the network more accessible.
